Third Annual Event
The Third Annual Marcie Mazzola Foundation Butterfly Auction & Dinner took place on October 26, 2006, at The Westbury Manor, Westbury NY. Mr. James Hazen, president and owner of Saf-T-Swim was the honoree. Mr Hazen opened the first Saf-T-Swim School in 1984 when he recognized the need to educate the Long Island community about water safety; and in so doing, thereby help to reduce the needless number of tragic water incidents that occur each year involving too many children. Mr. Hazen notes that one of the pleasures of founding Saf-T-Swim has been working with young employees, such as Marcie, who have made his business and professional life much more rewarding.
The festivities included cocktail hour, dinner, a Chinese Raffle and a Silent Auction with over 100 items/gift baskets on which to bid. Once again the fundraising outcome was successful and $57,000 was raised.
