MARCIE MAZZOLA FOUNDATION RAISED $65,000

FOR CHILDREN'S CHARITIES

(Commack, NY)&The Marcie Mazzola Foundation's Fifth Annual Butterfly Auction raised $65,000 for charities that benefit children. The Foundation was established by the Mazzola Family as a tribute to Marcie who was killed in a car accident in 2002. While only 21 years old when she died, Marcie's compassionate and loving nature drew her to those who needed help, especially children. The Foundation's mission is to continue Marcie's commitment to children and to specifically "help better the lives of abused and at risk children; and increase community awareness about the needs of children."

The Honoree for the evening was Brian J. Jusas, President & CEO Bold Systems, LLC. "It was important to us to recognize Brian for his dedication and compassion in helping children and for his incredible support of the Foundation," stated Nancy Mazzola, President of the Marcie Mazzola Foundation.

The proceeds from the event are supporting: The EAC Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center in Central Islip, and the Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect in Garden City, both are agencies that support physically & sexually abused children on Long Island. The Huntington YMCA Summer Camp Program by providing scholarships for underprivileged children; Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk assisting survivors of domestic violence, rape and sexual assault; Rose Brucia Educational Foundation reducing child abductions through public awareness; Smile Train providing surgery for children who suffer from cleft and lip palate, Island Harvest-Kids Backpack Feeding Program providing food for school children who would otherwise go hungry; and the New York Donor Network to increase community awareness to benefit children in need of organ donations.
